In just a few short weeks local Brisbanites and foodies from near and far will be storming the Australia’s latest and greatest culinary centrepiece, Mercado, satisfying more than their lust for the best produce in town.
The exquisite new home of food will be giving both produce and customers the royal treatment, with a range of distinguished food shopping experiences, from casual shopping opportunities, to guided flavour tours by Mercado concierge and personal shopping experiences.
Spokesperson for Mercado Group, Shaun Dunleavy, says the gourmet destination will excite more than just the culinary aficionado. “The more ‘hands-on’ customer can grab and fill a traditional market basket with an array of fresh ingredients, while those with a little more time on their hands, on the hunt for out-of-this-world flavour experiences can enjoy a guided tour of the store with a member of Mercado’s concierge,” he said.
“Mercado is about freshness, flavour and experience, which is why we’ve diversified the way customers can shop with us. Our concierge for example is made up of trained food specialists, dedicated to ensuring every customer gets the most out of every shop with us.”
“Concierge are trained to the highest level and available to assist our customers in-store with everything from understanding where produce has come from and how to make the most of its flavour, through to pairing food with speciality bottles.”
To top it all off, soon after launch, customers will find themselves placing an order on an in-store iPad, before relaxing at the bar while Mercado personal shoppers do the leg work for them.
“We want to provide our customers with the very best experience, whatever their wants and needs. Whether it’s taking the leg work out of food shopping, brightening up their day with tantalising products they’ve never seen before, or just immersing them in the sights and aromas of a bustling marketplace -we’re here to deliver it all,” said Dunleavy.
Mercado is set to open its doors in late October and will be the newest and most substantial addition to premier retail precinct, King Street at Brisbane Showgrounds.
