In the midst of our very own concrete jungle a new flavour dimension awaits. Innovative food marketplace Mercado, set to open its doors on November 3rd, is pleased to announce that customers will be getting more than what they bargained for.
The architectural gem, full to the brim with the best produce and shopping experiences, is topping the experience off with a new restaurant called ‘The Duck Room’.
The restaurant is a new Far Eastern inspired dining experience, housed within the walls of Mercado. Spokesperson for Mercado Group, Shaun Dunleavy, said The Duck Room is Mercado’s pièce de résistance, inspired by incredible flavours from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan.
“The Duck Room is our gem within a gem. Duck has been done, but not like this… We decided to shake up the city by developing a space where duck takes centre stage amongst a curated range of the most mouth-watering flavours of the Far East,” he said.
“The menu is a marriage between the finest Cantonese and Japanese cuisine, designed to showcase of the finest recipes and delicacies on offer at Mercado. The centrepiece of the menu is our signature roast duck, cooked to perfection by our Executive Chef.”
Customers will immerse in an intimate space and enjoy a wide range of flavours and cooking styles, accompanied by perfectly-paired sides and wines. The opulent setting and ambient atmosphere is the perfect setting in which to showcase the city’s highest quality duck and carefully curated dishes of the Far East – something that will no doubt be cherished, remembered and talked about, time and time again.
It doesn’t stop there; customers can also dine for lunch or dinner in the main restaurant. The menu is packed with variety, with something for everyone, whether a business lunch, casual dinner or special occasion.
The dine-in menu offers dishes with the very best, freshest ingredients from Australia and around the world, all of which can be found in Mercado’s marketplace.
From meat dishes and fresh seafood platters, to wood fired pizzas and a selection of Cheung Fun, Mercado is bringing flavour experiences like no other to the heart of Brisbane.
“Mercado is about showcasing all that food can be,” said Dunleavy.
Mercado opens its doors to the public on Saturday, November 3rd on King Street at Brisbane Showgrounds. Opening hours, parking information and directions can be found here.
